We have over 31 participants in the Bangalore Chapter led by IBM. These organizations focus on different projects under chapters based on the following pillars:

ENGAGE

WiT in partnership with organizations provides programs to reach out to schools and colleges.
Companies engage with faculty, students and parents with focus to encourage and enhance more girls to join STEM and technology domain. This is being done through specific education programs focused on generating awareness in STEM subjects and through real-time experiential learning.

ENABLE

WiT Allies: WiT provides a platform for organizations to support upcoming talent across industry through mentorship program to enable careers in STEM.
WiT Development Programs: It supports programs for women who are in early-mid career stage and leadership positions. It aims to give them an opportunity to understand workplace challenges such as work-life balance, stereotypes career advancement barriers, workplace harassment etc.

EMPLOY

LEADERSHIP SESSIONS
Increasing women participation in tech roles is high on the agenda of organizations in Bangalore Chapter and IBM has been instrumental in leading the cause in Bangalore.

Leadership sessions were conducted by Shalini Kapoor, Neelam Gori and Sugandha Srikanteswaran of IBM on March 12 and 23 April 2020 on how to build more awareness about opportunities for female professionals in STEM through outreach and providing support, importance of having a Women Tech Entrepreneurs Community and hosting more masterclasses by female industry leaders to inspire women or girls who are interested in getting into STEM fields. A prescient need for upskilling and reskilling were also discussed.

The importance of focusing on Diversity & Inclusion as an agenda even during the time of a crisis like COVID 19 was also a recurring theme.
